Layer went offline after symbol changes

Hi, I'm working on a GIS mapping project using ArcGIS Pro. After adjusting the symbology on a new layer stored in a file geodatabase, it disappeared from the map and now shows an unplugged icon. My coworker said it might be a connection issue but the geodatabase is local. Any idea how to get it back on the canvas?

Looks like ArcGIS Pro lost the connection to your layer, even if the geodatabase is local. Try removing the layer and adding it back from the geodatabase. Also, make sure the file hasnt been moved or renamed. If that doesn't work, check the layer's properties and try repairing the data source to get it back on the map.

The unplugged icon basically means ArcGIS Pro can't find the data your layer was linked to anymore. Even if the geodatabase is local, something like a rename, move, or overwrite can break the link. The fix is to right click the layer, choose repair data source, and point it back to the right feature class inside your geodatabase. Once it knows where the data lives again, the layer should pop back onto your map

I didn't realize a local geodatabase could still lose its link like that, but I guess even a small change can throw things off. I'll try the repair data source option first and see if it finds the feature class again. If that doesn't work, I'll re-add the layer from scratch and double-check the file path. Did either of you notice this happening more often after symbol changes or is it usually tied to file management outside ArcGIS? I'm trying to avoid repeating the same issue once I get it back on the map.
