I'm the kind of person that wants to try out new things, including geo mapping. There are many things I need, including a geoserver with posgis installed, the problem is that I'm using mac. Is this going to be a problem or it's going to be smooth sailing?

You're in good shape. GeoServer and PostGIS both run fine on macOS. You can install PostGIS using Homebrew or Postgres and GeoServer runs on Java so it's platform-agnostic. Are you planning to use QGIS too or just working through the browser?

Nope, not gonna be a problem, not the smoothest sail though. You'll need to install a few things like Java and database systems + etc., but once set up, GeoServer runs just fine. It's not exactly plug and play kinda thing, but nothing too crazy if youre up for it.

I attempted to set up a GeoServer with PostGIS on my old MacBook for a weekend project. It was a bit of a learning curve, but definitely manageable. Once you've got Java and Postgres figured out, it runs smoothly
